Neat. Neck pour of 2020. Never had Boureye before this but knowing it was a blend of old MGP intrigued me. Surprising amount of orange zest on the nose followed by vanilla. The bourbon side comes out the longer I sit with it, caramel and baking spices. Cinnamon roll with icing is becoming more predominant too. Keeps bouncing between the rye and bourbon side, that is pretty neat and balanced! Bit thin in the palate. Cinnamon and brown sugar sweetness up front, then hits you strong with that orange and rye spice. This orange is surprisingly strong. Just like the nose, the bourbon side starts coming out the longer you are with it. Vanilla, caramel, and light oak. This is fun! Other than the texture being a bit thin, I liked the rest of the experience. Lives up to the name as it bounces between Rye and Bourbon qualities.

I was offered this blind. My first reaction was akin to drinking a high rye bourbon. It had strong vanilla, cherry notes like bourbons, but it was SPICY! Cinnamon, red hots, and white pepper. I usually prefer high rye bourbons, so I really enjoyed this pour. The finish was tannic and full of body from the oak. There’s some orange zest here too. I give this a thumbs up!
Unimpressive for the cost. Label and website say all 10 year old for the blend. Unsure of the year otherwise. No reference to rye. Maybe I misunderstand. Very spicy. Good body. Some vanilla, some fruit. Maybe citrus. Indistinguishable, sadly. Hard to pull apart flavors. Long finish, but same problem - hard to separate. Wouldn't buy again.
Very unique rye. Very sweet nose with vanilla and caramel. Not nearly as hot as I expected with such a high rye content which makes it much more palatable neat. Loads of vanilla throughout. Some caramel and leather upfront. Red hots and rye taste comes later with moderate finish. I’ll be looking for a bottle now!
Not actually sure of the release date. ALMOST a creamy mouthfeel, but it’s just a little on the dry side. For sure on the sweeter side. For some reason, reminds me of a mountainy log cabin, something to be sipped by a fireplace. Not quite peppery, but more sweet/sour/bitter? Really good linger as well
Grass, leather, and musty nose. Sharp front and a smooth and full finish. Notes of cinnamon, pepper, smoke, and tobacco on the front. Vanilla, caramel, hints of chocolate and raisin and continued pepper on the finish.
