I thought this had a bizarre finish that kind of ruined it for me. Something something moldy hazelnuts? I don’t know. I don’t feel right rating it because this couldn’t be what the distillers had intended to release.
About this bottle
A follow-up to their original Old Log Cabin Bourbon, this Single Barrel Bourbon was released in July 2016 and bottled from cask #67. Like the original, it's made from a mashbill of 51% corn and 49% malted barley, distilled in a hybrid German Kothe still, and aged in #3 char new American oak. This sat longer in the barrel, having aged under 3 years, and is bottled at a slightly higher proof of 44.5% ABV.
