About this bottle

The Singleton is a family of three Scottish whisky distilleries; one of which is Glendullan, that was founded in 1897 and is located in Dufftown, in the Speyside region of Scotland. This 18 Year expression, along with its younger sibs (a 15 and a 12 year), landed Stateside sometime in late 2016. Mostly ex-bourbon American oak barrels were utilized for maturation. It is bottled at 40% ABV.

Lightest tasting whisky of any kind I have ever had. Extremely light and flavor profile to go with it. Great whisky to introduce Scotch to people who do not like whisky....such as your Wiffee/GF . Will not be buying again and I can see this bottle ending up in the back row of my collection so may last for 10-20 years or longer as I will not be reaching for it very often.

Tastes like nothing. It's 40% so I didn't expect much but wow. Not a lot going on. Minimal nose. No initial taste upon a sip. At the exhale there's a hint of....scotch. Glad this was a gift and not a purchase. I wouldn't even recommend it for anyone new to scotch because this is a horrible expression of what should be the beginnings of a beautiful hobby.

What's the point of this whisky @ 40 % ? May be good to introduce whisky to newborn infants or retirees after 80 who have to be careful drinking flavorful strong whiskeys but @ 40 % and such mild ,barely flavorful taste what is the point of this whisky?

Mellow, toffee nose to start. Definitely easy on the palate, very balanced. Starts sweet like toffee, takes a while to finish with the hazelnut though. Very good, not as good as I honestly hoped, but still good.

An enjoyable dram. Butterscotch on the nose. Cotton candy with a hint of peat on the palate. Contains this “oiliness” usually associated with Glenfiddich. I felt the finish was a bit too short for my liking.

Very mid nosing, cereal in the hands, in the glass cherries. The taste is the best part with nutty and malty. A long finish.
