Beenleigh 5 year double cask rum review. The bottle is a nice simple design, a vintage feel with 1884 blown on the glass and Beenleigh down the sides, no box included. On the nose a burst of sweet aromas of vanilla, bourbon from the casks, cane sugar, raisins and an underlying whiff of alcohol is fairly apparent, after leaving the bottle open for a few minutes the sweet flavours really come through nice. 4/5 On ice and on the pallat. Smooth, spicy, sweet, oaky flavours, some bite from the alcohol. My second sip comes in much smoother in my finish. 4/5 I wouldnt mix this with a sweet mixer maybe something else that wont drown out the flavours. For me this was good on ice. At the price point this is very good rum.
