Color: Sunny rose gold. Nose: Nutty Oloroso shines through light earthy peat. Whiffs of classic Speyside orchard blossoms as well. Palate: Thick, hazy peat smoke jumps right out. Complementing it is a fruity malt smoothness, accented with a pleasant bitterness, like cacao seeds or espresso. Finish: More of the bitter notes, with dark chocolate and maybe even a little black licorice cut with smooth banana. Diluted: Singed wildflowers and dry honeycomb on the nose. Campfire smore made with ruby chocolate comes alive on the palate. More richness emerges on the finish -- bananas become bananas foster.

Was really impressed with this one, it’s on my “special occasion/moments shelf” if you were to infuse a Peat Bomb and a Sherry Bomb….this is what you get! No too Smokey but dark deep creamy Peated fruit. I would highly recommend this especially considering the ABV that offers a thick creamy long finish, but would also caution that this is not an Islay whisky so if you looking for those Islay flavours you won’t find it here.

Representing speyside Lossie river Nose: oaky, malty, peat smoke, old fermented fruit, Body: medium Palate: peppery, spicy, smoky, salty, with water it’s sweat to start but very spicy Finish: medium long and hot Note: good but my least favorite. Water tames the spice and allows sweet to come through.
