Musky and young. Almost maple syrup sappiness on the nose with corn and whole wheat bread. The alcohol isnβt overbearing on the palette, but it tastes mostly of creamed corn. Would love to take a trip to this distillery this was a delightful surprise
About this bottle
Big Spring Spirits American Blended Whiskey is made in Pennsylvania at a LEED certified distillery. Although it is comprised of 65.25%, corn, 34% wheat, and 0.75% rye (a precise recipe shared to us by the Master Distiller), its is not technically a bourbon as the grains are fermented, distilled and aged separately before blending into the final product. Each distillate was aged in 53-gallon barrels of American oak. Released in November 2016, it is bottled at 53.85% ABV. Batch 2016-97 was used for tasting.

Instantly became my new favorite evening sipper. Spicy and sweet, even my wife, who prefers rum cocktails, likes it over ice. The flavor of corn comes through the spice of the rye. Just a really enjoyable whiskey!
Slight agave smell and taste, maybe from the high alcohol content. I tried it best without water. I could tell the alcohol content was high but it wasn't overpowering.
Really like it! This doesnβt say blended, but Burboun-Style American Whiskey
