Pleasantly surprised by this pour. I didnt think i would hate it, but also didnt expect myself to grab additonal pours. I expected the alcohol or corn mash to dominate the nose at this price point, but actually had some nice notes of vanilla , buttered oak. Mouthfeel is thin , but still nice soft vanilla on the palate , some cornbread on the finish. Easy sipper that doesnt require alot of thought. It’s not going to impress your friends ,but isnt priced that way , so don’t feel guilty of buying it to have as an affordable pour. This one can be sipped alone while watching tv and noticing that your glass in empty again.

Neat, Previously opened bottle; Nose is soft, floral, oak, and a little alcohol sharpness at the end. The taste stays true to the nose, a softness at the start, floral, vanilla, red apple, then sweet, then a touch of tartness, alcohol, and soft cinnamon to finish. Definitely has the Barton taste. Very close to 1792 SmB. Almost a Basil Hayden'd version of it. A bit softer and 'prettier', less heat, less sweet.

An intense, bourbon from Kentucky crafted with a mash bill of corn, rye & malted barley along with iron-free limestone spring water. It has an aromatic birth with notes of caramel & spice; while a rich life adds notes of grain & honey; that led to a long, rich & complex death. Neat; Sweet flavor with a touch of spice. Mild sweet & spicey finish. Spice becomes more intense during the lingering period then fades quickly with an undertone of alcohol.

Reminded me of a younger Weller Special Reserve (green label). Really light on the tongue and not a long finish. Easy sipping and hard to believe it is 90 proof. $28.95 usd

Subtle flavor on draw, bite comes late and lingers for a short while. Not a ton of flavor over all. Not great, not terrible. Probably won't pick up another.
