Barrel #12935 Thick, long legs in the glass. Light caramel cake and hay nose. Medium deep amber color. Viscous, coating the tongue nicely. Palate is sweet, peppery, and oaky. Reads a little minerally which doesnt surprise me (Tennessee). Finish lingers longer than I expected based on proof, mostly oaky tannins, probably over oaked which is always a risk with older aged American whiskey. As a sourced 17 year old, I didnt actually expect this to be great (if you had a dynamite 17 yr old whiskey, would you sell it?), but I did expect the flavors to be more complex. Overall disappointing, but not a bad pour, just not worth the asking price. Adding a cube of ice cut the tannins nicely, turning them more towards cinnamon and clove. Probably how I'll be drinking this bottle. Coming back to this bottle after letting it air out a day. Nose is the same with the addition of cherry. Palate definitely adds cherry and a hint of chocolate and coffee. The mineral flavor pushes the flavor towards cherry cough syrup, however. Finish fades into root beer candies.

Wow. I loved this one. Cherry, vanilla, oak, some citrus here and there. You keep coming back and getting new things on the nose and palate. There's some depth to this one and it's far from being an oak bomb despite the 17 years. Absolutely worth the retail price and everyone that's tried it has enjoyed it
Amazingly balanced Very sweet What some people call that Flintstone vitamin I pick up as a nuttiness... so I do pick up Dickel but I love it I would rate it 4.5 out of 5
106 proof - just a sample but very solid. Pretty sweet and light with a peanut taste rounding it out!
Deep caramel on nose, some brown sugar. Lighter on taste with more alcohol presence.
The best thing this distillery has ever made, and they normally make good shit!
