A delicate, Single Malt Scotch Whisky by an Undisclosed Distillery in Highlands, Scotland aged for 7 years in Ex-Bourbon oak cask. Steve Lipp established an independent bottling company, bearing his great uncle's name, based in California. It has a delicate birth with hints of smoke & flowers; while an elegant life adds notes of honey, citrus, walnut & vanilla; that led to a balanced death of medium length with hints of caramel, malt & spices. A lot of funk on the nose- malty. Lots of honey notes, but smells a little sharp. Flavors aren’t as rounded as I’d like but still light and fruity. Taste is slightly Smokey with a bite. Followed by all the sweet honey notes and a crisp spice. As it sits and your pallet adjusts, a warm vanilla comes in with some oily nutty flavor. Overall not bad. Not great.
Color is a light amber. Nose is earthy and malty initially. Light fruit notes follow. First sip is earthy, barely any sweetness. A light biscuity note follows. In the background a faint note of fruit is presents. Finish is relatively short, a brief extension of the earthiness from the front. For the price, not terrible.
barley, apples, oranges, salted nuts, chocolate, sour malt, blackberry jam on a biscuit, honey, lemon, grapes, buttery corn, char.
Nose is pleasant, some caramel and oak. Smoke and oak on the palate, some cocoa on the finish.
It is a medium sweet taste, light smoke and has a pleasant after taste.
