A unique bourbon that stands on its own away from the crowd of other bourbons. The smells give a long pause but not in a bad way. A lot of earthy notes. Hints of powerful clove, freshly ground allspice, butter, new paint, and strong alcohol. The herb scents arrive later with fresh tarragon, oregano, mint and aromatic licorice. The flavor is spicy initially and tempers off leaving immediate flavors of smoke, oak, pepper and medicinal notes. I wish the heat lasted longer but a touch of caramel and menthol. A tingly mouthful and good finish. This would be a good bourbon to share with friends and family.

A complex, High Rye Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey by IJW Whiskey in Kentucky is aged for a minimum of 4 years in new charred American white oak barrels before being bottled at 45% ABV. It has an aromatic birth with notes of grain, wood, dried fruits & spices; while a bold life adds notes of rye, oak, vanilla, cinnamon & honey; that leads to a grassy death of medium length with a loaf of corn bread. March / August 2023 / October 2024
Better than expected. Nose of vanilla, char, light rye , dried fruits. Spicy on the palate, with vanilla, berries, and rye. Spicy finish.
Pleasant smooth no bad angles. Snooth easy drinking not complex
