Was gifted a bottle from Justin Kurk at his wedding rehearsal dinner. Smells like opening a new box of chocolates. Deep flavor, not sure how to describe so I’ll let this review take over: “Enticing oak and vanilla aromas are joined by a hint of black cherry. The palate is deep and complex, opening with plenty of oak integrated with vanilla, drying espresso and cayenne heat. Adding water tames the fire, bringing out more vanilla and black cherry.”

Barrel #87 - Aged 53 months - Woodmans Supermarket. Gifted to me by Justin Kurk at his rehearsal dinner. 93.82 proof, 46.91% alcohol. Nose is nice - lots of corn and body - even a little cornbread. Taste is a little bland - corn but not much character. A little hard to drink, maybe a hint of rye/pepper
N: sweet corn, nutty, ethanol, caramel T:caramel, buttery, butterscotch, corny, peanut P:short caramel light spice back palette Not crafty which is nice
notes of vanilla and caramel, light oak flavor, finishes with a bite and lacks much other spice or distinction
Solid, but this bourbon doesn't excellent for the price. I like it because its local.
Not bad. Vanilla and caramel notes, but a bit of unexpected bite on this.
