Nose is candy fruit and Carmel and just a touch of pepper. You can smell the proof, but in a good way. There is more, just complex. I can’t pick them all out. Nice spice! Looking for a hug? This has it. Carmel, milk chocolate covered marshmallow. Some candy fruit, but not prominent. Covers the tongue front to back. The finish is very nice.
Surprised! Being fron Oregon, I've tried local bourbons and almost given up on Oregon Distilleries. This one saved the state. I enjoyed the higher proof, and with a little ice, it definitely elevates the whiskey. The tasting notes are complex. I suggest trying it and develop your own notes.
This is delicious. First had it as a blind and chose it over five other solid choices. Great sweet aroma with a nice Carmel taste. Had bite but not what the proof would suggest. Really solid neat, and haven't felt the need to try it any other way. Thank you barkeep, may I have another!
