Brilliant. Very smooth with notes of wood, caramel, and a spicy finish. A whisky drinker’s rum. This rum needs time for the flavors to open up, learned this when I brought this home from duty free, opened a bottle at home, and didn’t get same nose and palate I got when I tried it in the Dominican Republic but flavors opened up as I sipped more
About this bottle
Brugal’s most prized rum, Siglo de Oro is only produced once a year. It was created in 1988 to commemorate Brugal’s 100th anniversary. Aged for up to 8 years in medium-toasted American oak barrels, it is then placed into new oak barrels for another 8 years.

Excellent. Not available in the states unless you pay a premium. Essentially as expected, a smoother, richer, higher grade variation of Brugal's own 1888. If you're an avid drinker of Brugal, it's more like a better version of 1888 from years past.
Enjoying at Belmont Sanctuary Lodge 100’ from Machu Picchu. Best sipping rum so far and plan to take one home from duty free shop. The double oak makes for a very smooth and rich dram!
Old style blue ceramic bottle. Very bourbon like with notes of raisins, caramel, treacle, vanilla, cherries, cinnamon, nutmeg, peppers, tobacco, and dark chocolate.
Very good rum. Nose: vanilla, tropical fruits. Taste: butterscotch, oak. Don't get me wrong it tastes good, but price is too high.
Przypomina mi whisky, ale jest bardziej gęste, słodkawe. Alkoholowe mocno. Robi robotę.
