Good rum, but I expected slightly more. It's relatively harsh on the nose. It's a delicious rum, with good vanilla and toffee and earthy notes, but just slightly under my expectations.
About this bottle
Atlantico takes a divergent path comparative to most rums; rather than choosing cane juice or molasses for distillation, they do both. They age those rums separately, and blend them together before marrying them for several more years of aging. Atlantico Reserva is a Solera-aged rum, so after that initial process of aging, blending and marrying, they kickoff the solera process, which for the Reserva results in the inclusion of rums up to 10 years old. The rum's packaging received a makeover in 2017.
