This rye new make is quite clear with thin viscous legs. The nose is sweet and floral with notes of dandelion, ripe pineapple, mild rye spice, and pond algae. The palate is sweet and simple with notes of cherry, grapefruit, breakfast toast, and a tannic taste. The finish is tingling, mild, and of medium length. Cheers!
About this bottle
Made from a mashbill of corn, barley, and rye grains, Buffalo Trace White Dog Rye Mash is immediately bottled after distillation at hearty 125 proof. This is when the new make spirit would be transferred to barrels for aging, eventually becoming Sazerac Straight Rye Whiskey.

Watch out its unaged and hot! After a quick alchohol flash and a strong grain forward flavor it settles quickly into a buttery marshmellow sweetness. Aftertase is appleish once the sweetness fades and your mouth drys out. Pretty impressive for a white whiskey seriously could sip this neat and be happy with every taste.
Buttery smell, almost like fresh popcorn being made. The bite is strong but quick. Aftertaste is again buttery and pleasant. Overall not a daily drinker but is a good once and awhile pour.
Rye bread, rubber, rubbing alcohol, sour notes abound. It's got some different flavors to it, I'll give it that.
Has a lot of heat. The rye really punches you in the mouth
Rough around the edges. Not a fan of this one
