Nose: Smokey woods, smoked meat, red berries and strewed dark stone fruits. Rich cocoa vanilla syrup Pallet: more smoked meats, heavy oils and fruit. Cherry pie, salt and brine, tannins out the warzoo Finish: long peppery smoke, more sea salt notes, oil and savoury meat. Sweet wines.
Aroma is pretty complex... tarry smoke, jammy blackberry, and a bit of dried apricots. Taste is a bit hot and tannic upfront with a pop of raisins and dry red wine. The winey notes and slightly tarry slight meaty smoke longer on for a while. I love this distillery.
Blind tasting Nose: light peat, sherry, grass Taste: peat, barbeque, band aid Wood: port? Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Notes: warming. Distillery? Could be a laphroaig sherry cask, maybe ardbeg
Excellent balance of peat, tannins and subtle berry sweetness. Wine casks are very hit or miss but the influence here is restrained and a step up from previous Bunna Bordeaux releases.
Very Spicy and Rich 🥳
