With the drastic changes in the climate, where periods of drought and rain have become unstable, Destom has developed a strategy using sugarcane as an energy reserve in case of extended periods of drought. This has made it possible to increase the number of animals per unit of pasture area. From there, it was a short step to set up the distillery and complete the cycle of sustainability on the farm in Faria Lemos, Minas Gerais, in this consortium between beef cattle, sugarcane and cachaça. The producers began the project in 2014, with a high-tech model distillery. Cachaça 1000 Montes Strong Carvalho Americano 500ml is produced through a blend of beverages aged for three years in first-use American oak barrels, with three different toasts (toasts 2, 3 and 4). With a strong amber color, aromas of almonds, dried fruits and toasted coconut, with final notes of prolonged caramel. It is a complex cachaça, perfect for those seeking new experiences.
