MARKBRANDO 2.3

Octávio Carvalheira, founder of Cachaça Carvalheira, worked with sugar, alcohol and brandy in companies. In 1949, the chemist was hired by Usina Rio Una and in 1961, he became director of the 4 factories of the same group until 1967. He then took over TECAL Tecnologia and managed more than 60 companies in the northeast in the alcohol, sugar and brandy sectors. In 1993, after a trip to Cuba, he suggested to his son Eduardo that they acquire the Instituto Cubano de Investigaciones de los Derivados de la Caña de Azúcar. After visiting Cuba, his son Eduardo Carvalheira hired technicians to develop yeasts in Recife. In 1995, he acquired European oak barrels and began producing his own cachaça. In the city of Recife, capital of the state of Pernambuco, the Carvalheira distillery entered into a partnership with the bar chain The People and set up a bar on the terrace of a large shopping mall in the city. This bar serves Carvalheira cachaças and it was there that I tried all of them, unfortunately very bad, to the point of even doubting whether they were real. It was from Quinta da Carvalheira, in Portugal, that the surname Eduardo Carvalheira came from. The property belonged to the family of the Portuguese Frederico Pereira Pinto, Eduardo's great-grandfather, who came to Brazil as a child. The Cachaça Carvalheira Tradicional Extra Premium is stored for 5 years in oak barrels and has an alcohol content of 38%. Personal notes: greenish/pale yellow color, alcoholic, vegetal, herbal, bitter and unbalanced, unfortunately.
