Cachaça da Quinta is produced at Fazenda da Quinta, in the municipality of Carmo, in the mountainous region of Rio de Janeiro. In 1923, the farm was acquired by Francisco Lourenço Alves, a Portuguese immigrant who introduced a series of precautions into the production process of the existing Cachaça da Quinta. His son José Ramos Alves continued to improve the drink, maintaining the original production technique and the specialty of the fermentation process. Years later, he passed on the property and all the details of the Artisanal Cachaças to his daughter, Katia Alves Espírito Santo, who designed and carried out extensive renovations of the factory, the brand's visual identity and packaging, and the product line, bringing them to the highest international quality standards. In 2009, Fazenda da Quinta began exporting its products to demanding markets, such as the United States, Taiwan, England, and France. Cachaça da Quinta Prata is a drink stored for six months in stainless steel barrels. Robust, it has an alcohol content of 42%. The aroma is fine, intense and persistent. It is reminiscent of sugarcane juice and has fruity notes. On the palate, it is balanced, soft and intense. Fruity aftertaste, with general harmony. Quinta is what the Portuguese call rural properties that have a house on the land. In wine language, they are vineyards or wine estates, as they are called in the main Portuguese regions.
