CACHAÇA DO MERCADO CARVALHO AMERICANO

This is the same Libertas double-distilled cachaça produced by Destilaria Lamas for Ambix in the Belo Horizonte Central Market. Cachaça is double-distilled, which shows the need to perfect the drink (unlike other distillates, quality cachaça requires only one distillation, preserving its original complexity of aromas and flavors - the more the cachaça is distilled, the more the drink loses in complexity. Aged in American Oak barrels, it has a golden color, and this wood, known for its ability to add sweetness and complexity to the cachaça, contributes notes aromas of honey, vanilla, coconut and dried fruits. It has an intense, almondy and woody flavor, a striking taste that remains in the mouth. Libertas cachaça has won awards, including the Gold Medal at the Frankfurt International Trophy (2021) and the Gold Medal at Expocachaça (2022).
