Fabulosa cachaça was created in 2003 by Mr. Eraldo Corrêa, a native of Salinas, the national cachaça capital of Minas Gerais. The producer explains on his website that he purchased selected batches of local cachaças that had aged for 4, 8, and 10 years. Fabulosa cachaça is a blend of these cachaças, aged for an average of 6 years in balsam vats. Fabulosa Cachaça is registered in Brazil as a distillery and cachaça producer, but it's unclear from the label or website whether they produced this cachaça or simply blended it with distillates from other producers. Another inconsistency found is that the same distillate is sold under two different names: Cachaça Fabulosa Tradicional or Bálsamo Ouro for $28 per bottle and Cachaça Fabulosa Especial for $43 per bottle (the bottle made the product more expensive). However, two other different cachaças are already on the market: FABULOSA PRATA, probably with balsam but with a much lighter yellow color; AMBURANA with this other Brazilian wood. Notes: of FABULOSA PRATA Pale yellow color, herbal, fennel and anise touch, light, delicate, fresh and balanced
