In 1960, José Maria Santana, better known as Zé Santana, began to produce cachaça in a small watermill in Guaraciaba, Minas Gerais. The product was sold and delivered on the back of donkeys by the tropeiros. The fame of cachaça spread throughout the region and demand increased, causing the mill to be replaced by a larger one, powered by steam. Five years later, the Guaraciaba brand was registered, and the troop of donkeys was replaced by a truck. In a short time, it was already one of the favorite drinks in the capital. Today, Cachaça Guaraciaba is managed by Zé Santana's successor and manufactured between June and October, producing from 400,000 to 600,000 liters of cachaça per year. Guaraciaba Reserva Especial Amburana is a blend of vintages and aged for eight years in amburana barrels, a typical Brazilian wood. Light, with an alcohol content of 38%. The blend has a unique flavor and unparalleled aroma, with a smoother, woody flavor and sophisticated packaging. Source: Cachaçaria Nacional.
