With the drastic changes in the climate, where periods of drought and rain have become unstable, Destom has put together a strategy using sugar cane as an energy reserve in the event of extended dry periods. This made it possible to increase the number of animals per unit of pasture area. From there, it was a quick leap to set up the distillery and close the sustainability cycle on the farm in Faria Lemos, Minas Gerais, in this consortium between beef cattle, sugarcane and cachaça. The producers began the project in 2014, with a high-tech model distillery. Cachaça Primeira de Minas Três Madeiras 750ml is produced through a blend. Stored for a year in amburana, peanut and oak barrels, it has an alcohol content of 40%.
