With the drastic changes in the climate, where the periods of drought and rain have become unstable, Destom has put together a strategy using sugarcane as an energy reserve in case of extension of the dry periods. This made it possible to increase the number of animals per unit of pasture area. From there, it was a leap to set up the distillery and close the sustainability cycle on the farm in Faria Lemos, Minas Gerais, in this consortium of beef cattle, sugarcane and cachaça.
