Passing through 4 generations, the history of Rech Distillery began in 1938 by Mr. Roberto Rech, who at first manufactured small amounts of brandy. The must used in distillation consisted of molasses from the draining of brown sugar, the main product manufactured by the family. Production for commercialization was started by his son Mr. Pedro Roberto Rech in 1950. In 1975 the demand for brandy increased and another generation took over the business with Mr. Osmar Rech, and Sacca became one of the best brandy producers in the region. In July 2008 they registered their own trademark SACCA from the Latin saccharum which means sugar cane genus. The Rech family has been a pioneer in the manufacture of brandy for over 75 years and is located in Luiz Alves Santa Catarina. Source: Luiz Alves. SC.
