CACHAÇA SOBERANA CARVALHO AMERICANO

Produced in Campos dos Goytacazes, in the interior of Rio de Janeiro, the distillery was founded in 2004 by Altair Perdomo — who started the project at age 65 as a retirement dream. Altair made it clear that quality would be above commercial appeal and has already discarded entire batches for not meeting the desired standard. And even at 87 years old, he still closely follows everything, alongside his grandson and successor Arthur Perdomo. The distillery is 100% sustainable. With technical advice from Dr. Leandro Marelli, a cachaça expert and neighbor of the distillery, Soberana Carvalho Americano Cachaça is aged for 6 to 12 months in 200-liter American oak barrels and has a 40% alcohol content. It presents distinctive sensory characteristics due to the interaction of the distillate with the wood. The aroma is generally complex, with notes of vanilla, caramel, spices, and dried fruit. On the palate, the drink takes on a velvety texture, with sweet flavors reminiscent of almond and a slight bitterness. The color also changes, ranging from pale yellow to mahogany.
