NOSE Caramel, oak, honey, vanilla, cinnamon, touch citrus, biscuity and fruity. Light. This is incredibly light. It’s so light and basic that it’s the definition of MOTR (middle of the road). PALATE Caramel, oak, vanilla frosting, biscuity, copper, touch fruity and baking spice. Yup, the palate of the Calumet Farm Bourbon keeps up the light trend and does little else. FINISH Medium -> Oak, caramel, fruit and spice fade out evenly.
About this bottle
The marketing spiel tells a tale about the owner of Calumet Baking Powder who in 1924 established a farm to breed horses. Over the years the farm took home eight Kentucky Derbies and two Triple Crowns. In reality, this is a(nother) sourced whiskey from an undisclosed distillery put in a pretty bottle.

I've been curious about this for a while although not this specific label. It doesn't need to be limited to mixed drinks but it's on the edge. I got vanilla right away up front but it immediately flattened out to a finish of slight sour. I'll try other labels but likely won't buy any more bottles.
As Bourbons go, I like this one on flavor more than most. Would definitely not pay for the bottle. Opens up nicely with a slash of water. At the price point, there are way more desirable bourbons though.
Green Apple on the nose, very full on the pallet with a taste of caramel sweet to it. Slight alcohol burn on the finish. Overall it’s smooth, and very good but wasn’t impressed with its price tag.
Excellent bourbon - my favorite so far. Nose was underwhelming at first, but it has a graceful bouquet; subtle and flower like. Very smooth and overall satisfying palate. Mild mouthfeel.
I did not enjoy this at all. To get rid of it, we included it in a blind test at a bourbon party and almost all of ours guests rated it one of the lowest, as well.
