3.5 is my max rating for day to day drinkers available in most MI stores. That said - this is one of my favorites. I refer Rabbit Hole as itβs a bit bigger and a little more complex. This one is very smooth - I donβt open it at all. Which is why - at least for my pallet - I say itβs not very complex. The overall profile doesnβt move much for me with any amount of water.

Very pleasant nose with citrusy dark fruits, cherry, and sweet oak. Tasting reveals similar flavor with red fruit being apparent as well as a slight sweet oak spice. Very short finish and an overall thin mouthfeel. Would be very good at a higher proof but just comes across watered down and lacking any real punch of flavors.
Nose was mostly ethanol. Palette was oak and leather. Left the mouth kind of dry. Added some water and it muted what was there on both nose and palette. For an $80 bottle I would say it was not very complex. I would pay $50/bottle at most.
π mesquite π Just bitter. Not a fan. I expected more oaky goodness for a bottle with 14 yr old whiskey π I guess the mesquite I got on the nose could really be the oak + proof
Smooth, sweet, and a little spicy on the finish. Solid bourbon and drinks higher proof than the listed 86.
Good flavor, not great. Some burn that is eased with ice.
