The Distillers Edition is an annual limited edition series from Diageo featuring select single malt Scotch whisky distilleries in their portfolio. Each release is double matured (finished) in a selected cask. For Caol Ila, casks which held Moscatel sherry --a sweet, fortified dessert wine -- are used. Distilled in 2003, this release was bottled in 2015 at 86 proof.

Ah Caol Ila...after a lot of crazy arse drams sometimes you just need a middle of the road dram to remind you what scotch is about. Nothing fancy or exotic just plain old smokey scotch, slightly sweeter than the usual 12.
