About this bottle

Cascade Moon is a new line of whiskies created at the Cascade Hollow Distilling Co. in Tullahoma, Tennessee. General Manager and Distiller Nicole Austin crafted this first edition which was inspired by the taste and aroma of a gose-style beer. Expect future whiskies in this series to vary with flavor profile. Edition No. 1 is aged for 11 years and is bottled at 42 proof. Availability limited to Tennessee, California, and Texas with an October 2020 release date.

Aroma is that warm, familiar, GD profile, but lighter than the GD we know and love – though it’s not weak and carries a sweet fruitiness with a distinct warmth making it fun and easy; Palate is also a bit lighter and fruitier than, say, the George Dickel 12 – but again it’s not weak and carries a nice, moderately complex, profile of fruit and grain sweetness; Finish is a semi-quick brushing of the palate and the only place oak really makes itself known.

Definitely still has the unique Tennessee whisky taste and flavor. Initially, I was not quite certain it was what i was hoping for and expecting. However, like I read in some of the editorials, with each sip it got better and better. In my opinion it packed a slight heat in the beginning but truly was a smooth at the end of the finish. I will continue to review with each pour.
