Visual: Honey-gold; very slow, droplet legs. Nosing: aptly named, this dram has definite Haggis spice and oil notes. Sweet, mellow, and fruity. Milk chocolate and red fruit dominate the back end of the nose. Tasting: hot and sweet. Has a "meatiness" to it; a scent reminiscient of rendered, spiced fat from a lamb roast. Sense body with a long, earthy finish. Reduced Nosing: when adding water, lots of honey glaze comes through. There's almost sweet floral notes coming through as well. Reduced Tasting: sweetness still very much there; but has this almost "fried oil" taste to it. A tad bit of perfumed fruit also comes through. Basically smells as if one has fried a holiday fruit cake. I bought this bottle on Scotland a few years ago, and it gets better every time I pour a dram; it's complex, weird, and tasty. This is a great dram to have on a super cold day when you need a bit of a tasty buzz. ***Can't quite remember the price, but I believe it was around 160CAD.
