About this bottle

Catoctin Creek releases a limited number of experimental offerings per year. This version is their Roundstone Rye (100% rye mashbill aged just under two years in new Minnesota white oak) released at cask strength, then finished in a barrel that once held their 1757 Virginia Brandy. Note: Certified organic and kosher. Proof varies.

Lewisse 1.0

Wouldn't drink again, although I could finish it. Strong peat flavor. Perhaps a hit of brandy or tequila? For me: Not good.

Koby Howards 4.0

Brandy casking gives it a big rum sense. Strong mapley-ness and a firey bite without being stringent

Chang 2.0

Not very well rounded. High thin and alcohol forward.

ruggedcrosspro 5.0

like apple butter on rye toast

hswolff 3.0

It was ok. Not my favorite.

cbillas 3.0

2.5. Rough, syrupy finish
