Nose: Somewhat light nose for the age. Nice toasted oak with just a bit of that rye spice popping up. Palate: Cherry licorice, and cinnamon are met with a soothingly sweet caramel and vanilla. Dark chocolate cover orange peel brings up the rear. Finish: Long and lasting with more notes of cinnamon and cracked black pepper. A great offering from a brand with a long history!
Chicken Cock 15 Year Barrel Proof Kentucky Straight Bourbon
About this bottle
This release from Chicken Cock is a limited edition holiday release for 2020. Master Distiller Gregg Snyder for Grain & Spirits, owners of the Chicken Cock brand, selected 10 barrels of Kentucky straight bourbon for this release. The mash bill of the bourbon was 78.5% corn, 13% rye, and 8.5% malted barley. After 15 years of aging in new, charred American oak barrels, the bourbon was batched and bottled at barrel proof of 57% ABV without chill-filtration. Availability limited to Kentucky or through the Chicken Cock website

Light barley aroma, but pretty faint. Huge oak wave, dry to the point of estringent. There's a flavor buried in there my brain recognizes but I can't place. Medicinal tail. Interesting, enjoyable.
Quiet with aromas of fruit at the beginning. The ending flavor is long lasting and strong.
Big and spicy
