Visual: Dark amber; viscous, thin, legs. Nosing: almost like an Italian Amaro; there's tons of herbal oakiness in this dram. Earthy and full. Sugared pecans and butterscotch ice cream hit the back of the nose. Tasting: hot, dry, sweet--with a bit of acidity; chili pepper and wild rosemary hit the back palate. Light molasses sugar cookies. Lots of warming alcohol on the back end. Reduced Nosing: with added water, much more floral notes come through; caramel and light toffee also come through. Reduced Tasting: crushed wild flower petals and brown sugar. Sweet butterscotch comes through. This dram from Balcones is one of the most unique, incredible whiskys I have ever tasted. I had this in Scotland a few years back and we finally cracked open the bottle we got. Still as weird, sweet, and beautiful like I remember. **Can't quite remember the price of this dram, but it was around 230CAD
