Color: Medium Copper-Amber Nose: Cinnamon Red Hots candy; molasses or maple. Palate: (Drank with a large ice ball) Oak tannins are prevalent from the first sip, followed by a pretty big chest hug (for just 100 proof). Spicy and slightly sweet. Very oaky... tingly on the tongue. This reminds me a lot of some Old Foresters that I've had. Strange. It's distilled by Barton 1792 — of which I've also had a handful of... so, maybe it's actually those that this is reminiscent of. Going in for pour #2, to see if anything else comes through... Nope! Second pour, identical to the first. Baking spices and oak are the main attraction here. Finish: Medium, slightly drying, spice and oak. Final Thoughts: This is a decent sipper for the price — I actually paid $10 less than what I have indicated (with a special weekend promotion at my grocery store). I'd place this in the, "Bourbon that gets the job done for a good price" category. Nothing to write home about, but one that I would buy again — drink again, at the very least. 3.25 stars.
