Copper Fox Rye Cognac Barrel Finished

The nose gives away little with this spirit. As the first sip hits the tongue, there is a bit of fruit, and then...the palate is ignited as if by napalm, obliterating all other notes until the finish which, appropriately, is predominated by smoke. Sigh. I believe the folks at Copper Fox are highly skilled, and capable of great things. But this dram just doesn't measure up.

Of the four pours this was the most drinkable. Thr Rye notes rrally come out and lots if wood smoke.

Smooth and smoky and great finish. Not much better to drink when you’re by the fire
