*DISCLAIMER My reviews are not palate reviews, they are based on “am I going waste my money on a bottle of this or save my money for something better”* My personal favourite. Cheaper than most, but excellent molasses-like mixability & deep rum notes. If I could choose between the only rum for the rest of my life, this would be it.
About this bottle
Coruba Dark is a staple in the field of tropical mixology. Inexpensive, assertive, and funky, it would be difficult to miss in most mixed drinks. Coruba is often used to provide a "bottom end" in tiki drinks, and manages to stand up to strong citrus flavors. It is a blend of pot and column still rum that's been aged at least two years in American oak barrels.

Nice dark rum with the Jamaican flavour for mixing. To me tastes like a budget version of Appleton Rare. Certainly preferred over Goslings Black Seal
Molasses, funky, caramel, thick. A little harsh by itself, but really stands out in cocktails, especially against strong citrus.
very fruity on the nose. spicy and rich, sweet and creamy on taste. finish is bitter.easy.
Sugar and molasses, a bit of funk. Good for tiki cocktails.
Good cheap rum for bottom end of tiki drinks.
