A delicate, 8-year-old Armagnac from Darroze in the Bas Armagnac region bottled at around 43% ABV. It has an aromatic birth with notes of dried fruit, prunes & rancio; while a rich life adds notes of citrus peel, grape, quince jam & licorice; that led to a balanced death of medium length with notes of caramel, cinnamon, biscuit & hint of oak. August 2017
About this bottle
Darroze a is family owned négociant in the Bas-Armagnac region, known for their celebrated stock of Armagnac. Négociants are French houses that buy and age distillates and wines from smaller producers and take them to market under their own labels. They often blend from multiple vineyards, as is the case with the Les Grands Assemblages (simply, "the great blends") series from Darroze. This 8 year bottling is the entry level of the series, showcasing the young spirit without too much oak influence. As with whiskey, the age on the bottle is that of the youngest spirit in the blend. Bottled at 43% ABV.

Young and fruity, but well balanced and delicious nonetheless.
Strong taste of matured grapes, bit sharp but in a good way
