Nose - dry grain, bitter herbal and citrus notes, earthy mint, bland sweetness, black pepper, mild to moderate ethanol burn. Taste - sweet and sour grain, bitter lemon, mint, coriander, dry herbal notes, black pepper, mild to moderate alcohol bite, finishing medium short with sour citrus, dry grain, mint, and pepper flavors. This is the third Texas corn-based vodka I’ve tried, so it’s natural to compare it against Tito’s and Tower. On those nose, it’s rather similar but there’s an earthy minty quality that isn’t apparent on the others. Of the three, I like Deep Eddy the best because of the mint, but it’s not significantly better. The palate hits with a combination of sweet and sour grain that quickly develops with some mint and coriander spice. Thankfully, the paper notes I perceived on Tito’s and Tower are nowhere to be found. Finally, pepper and citrus round out the experience. Overall, I think this is slightly better than Tito’s and Tower, but not by much. And certainly not enough to notch it up a rating. It’s also the cheapest of the three, at $1 less than Tower. If forced to choose, I would select Deep Eddy over the others but I’m not forced to choose, so I’ll likely never buy a bottle of it. And as expected, I’ll be taking Jim Beam Original neat over this any day.

I finally broke down and tried this vodka and while I like this it still does not hold a candle to the taste and value of Three Olives vodka. This is a smooth sipping vodka but it has to be cold because once this is close to room temp the ethanol takes over. It does mix well with everything and it makes a decent Vesper but for the price I still enjoy Three Olives. Enjoy.
Tasted like watered down everclear. I had high hopes for this because of how good the flavored vodkas are from Deep Eddy! But just skip this and get a different vodka! Esp for the price! The aftertaste/as soon as you swallow, it’s such a harsh alcohol taste. I have not found anything that it mixes well in either so doesn’t even make a good mixer.
Primarily bought this to clean homebrew equipment that I can't tear down. Aroma is pretty harsh, acetone, ethanol. Palate is initially sweet, mostly neutral but with very mild lemony undertones, and a slightly peppery finish. I don't really do vodka, but this is inoffensive enough, and the price is right.
Deep Eddy vodka has aromas of spring water and light neutral grain spirit. The entry is soft with a palate of toffee. The finish ends with flavors of toffee and baking spices. This vodka is good but not great straight. It is an excellent mixer.
I like this corn made vodka from Austin, Texas. It’s got a lot going on, sweet, citrus, pepper, spice. It’s clean and mild with a long finish. Not a sipper tho. Strictly for mixing
