For tequila purists, Deleon anejo strays too far away from its agave roots. The French Sauternes component shines and delivers aromas of dried fruits, brown sugar, vanilla, almond, and chocolate. The flavor showcases strong presence of vanilla, honeysuckle, and chocolate, and delivers nuances of oak, almond, and spices.
About this bottle
DeLeón Añejo is made from 6 to 8 year blue Weber agave harvested from Jalisco's Los Altos (Highland) region. It spends over a year aging in two types of casks: American oak and ex-French Sauternes oak casks. This tequila is part of DeLeón's "Ultra-Premium" line that includes a blanco and reposado. The brand is co-owned by Sean "Diddy" Combs and Diageo.

Tasted the DeLeon Platinum. Floral, sweet, vanilla. Nose is beautifully floral, nice agave, no spice. Palate is sweet, smooth, with nice floral and jasmine. Finish is smooth with a quick finish. Overall, a delicious tequila that is well balanced and smooth. A nice sipper that opens up with a couple pieces of ice
Good flavor and relatively smooth... not as tasty as other anejos ive had
A little too much like bourbon. But much smoother.
