Dettling Cask Strength Single Barrel Bourbon (57 Months)

Nose: rich vanilla, maple syrup, coffee, dark chocolate, cherry Palate/finish: thick mouthfeel with a sweet woodiness up front followed by chocolate and espresso, almost like tiramisu. Notes of vanilla, cherry and dark fruit are also present. There is a very distinct and unique oak influence unlike anything I’ve ever tasted. A long and complex finish. Oak, lots of chocolate, vanilla, and earthy tobacco.

The nose shows a little cherry or berry with something. Maybe coffee maybe dark cocoa (+75%). The palate brings some of the same notes, but i get some nutty flavors and a little dry. The finish is mid lasting with a little spice. Interesting.

So complex. Cocoa nibs, strong tobacco, hint of swetness, dry, mellow flavour then hot finish.

lots of caramel, toffee, brown sugar, but also lots of ripe and sugary red fruits as well
