Age 50 Months 118.7 Proof 59.35% ABV This is one of the darkest whiskies I’ve ever seen. It looks awesome. Aroma - Damn that is aggressive and in your face. Monster oak profile. Vanilla, chocolate, and mixture of red and dark fruits are present as well and become more noticeable as it opens up. I even pick up some maple and coffee every once in a while. Quite intriguing. Taste - Holy crap… the black coffee with chocolate covered oranges is crazy good. A decadent dessert in a glass. Was not expecting that much sweetness to be honest. Oak and vanilla. I’m not picking much spice or even caramel either to be honest. Overall - Truly exceptional to be honest. The oils really coat the palate and creates a magnificently long finish. The complexity is fantastic and each sip brings forward a new note. The only knock is that the proof seems to be a bit more aggressive than it should. Seems like it could be well north of 120 proof. But I also do enjoy this is because the alcohol presence makes you to want to savor this. Around $80-90 this is absolutely worth it. This will definitely be a bottle that I’ll try and always have on hand. 4.8

This expression is a straight bourbon that has been matured a minimum 4 years in new American oak barrels with a #3 char. A single barrel is selected distillery co-founder Seth Dettling for this release, which varies by barrel, the majority of which come from the upper level of the rickhouse. It is bottled at cask strength, which varies by selection, typically around 110 proof.
