About this bottle

Samhain is a limited edition release from Dingle Distillery and the first of eight bottlings in the brand's new Wheel of the Year Series. Celebrated at sunset October 31st through November 1st, Samhain is one of four main seasonal fire festivals which celebrates the beginning of winter and the Celtic New Year. The single malt here matured initially in first-fill bourbon casks before a two-year finishing in first-fill Muscatel casks. There are 10,000 bottles available worldwide with 1,500 bottles for the US. Availability begins November 2023. (SRP $150)

A fruity, slightly smokey and bright nose. Impressive smoothness for a relatively high ABV, adding low end theatrics to a very grape forward single malt. The autumnal qualities are quite apparent, as the flavors come together with harvest-like flavors of vine fruit, field barley and malt, along with aging cut wood stave. The muscat flavor goes on and on, with a record breaking finish that doesn't stop for several minutes. Overall, this is a unique Irish expression that will appeal to wine lovers as well as whiskey enthusiasts.
