Nose is really nothing to write home about. The proof really over takes it and that’s unfortunate as the taste and finish are really good as I get some apple or light fruit notes and the ethanol on the nose doesn’t transfer to the taste. Finish is medium as I feel it but low on an aftertaste.
About this bottle
This expression consists of bourbon sourced from MGP in Indiana that was purchased by Doc Swinson's for use in other blends. However, upon numerous tastings, the team decided the whiskey deserved its own release. It is a combination of 2 mash bills —one 60% corn, 36% rye, and 4% malted barley — the other 75% corn, 21% rye, 4% malted barley — aged a minimum of 5 years. It is bottled at 115 proof.

Vanilla nose not much more than that Sip brings carmel, with the wave of heat Afterward, finish nicely moves from caramel to pear to oaky to tobacco. Take another sip to start the cycle again
115 proof. $47.99, $50.63 with tax. Release No. 217001, Bottle No. 01375. Cinnamon, oak, caramel, vanilla cream, peanuts, malt, pepper, corn, red pepper, apple. Very spicy.
Nose: a heavy vanilla cherry with wood and spice notes Taste: vanilla pudding with cherry sauce moving into a wood spice Finish: very short. Oak and spice and gone.
Vanilla and red fruit on the nose. Caramel, vanilla and more red fruit on the palate. Finish turns spicy but fades somewhat quickly for the proof. Overall decent sip.
This one shocked me how good it was! Nutty and sweet that holds its flavor for the stretch. Finish went on forever as well!
