Taste- Barrel #961, 100 proof. Tasted neat in glen cairn Nose- Reminds me of cherry-vanilla Dr. Pepper with a touch of oak. The more it sits, the more of the vanilla is released. It is a vibrant nose that is inviting. Palate- Sweet bing cherries and vanilla cream lead in. It is followed by a bit of oak, but not too drying. The mouthfeel is very buttery, with a brown butter nuttiness coming in towards the end. I also get a slight touch of nutmeg to add some spiciness for balance. Finish- wonderful finish! There is a peanuttiness on the backend along with that initial cherry- Dr. Pepper that I got straight away on the nose. Overall- A wonderful bourbon here! I would put it up against most Kentucky products in a blind, and it would hold its own. The additional aging here takes their 5 year Flagship product to a better level. 91/100
