Sweet roasted agave that starts to transform into some light lime, mild oakiness, mild minerality, salinty, bits of leather, and some green herbal agave/ medicinal scotch notes. The peat begins to build at this point but isnt overwhelming in any way. Its noticeable as peat smoke but is dances playful along the finish. The finish is medium to long with hints of vanilla, smoke, and mineral. this definitely feels like a younger anejo but everything about it is done masterfully. The saline and smoke from laphroaig adds a nice extra layer of complexity while still being effortless sipping with interesting notes.

Surprisingly, the scent of peat smoke is very reticent on the nose. Only a slight air of creosote is apparent after several inquiries. On the palate, sweet agave flavor leads the charge, followed by a touch of salinity. Only at the tail end of the flavor journey does a light smokiness come through, reminiscent of a cigar malt. The body is medium, and the finish is extra long. As the younger sibling in the Mundial Collection, this one is a bit shy, but will warm up to you quickly.
Very nice with notes of cooked agave, marshmallow topped sweet potatoes, key limes, jalapeños, mesquite smoke, peaches, cinnamon, star anise, and iodine.
