Batch C923 Possibly bottle of the year. Very full and sweet on the nose. In the words of my wife "its like smelling a chocolate covered cherry, dipped in caramel" I get lots of deep sweetness, maybe over ripened plum/raisin, almost a grape jelly, chocolate notes, macerated berry. You can smell the proof, but not as much as youd expect on a 133. Palate is definitely warm, the spice is there, at shows up almost immediately, but the deep flavors still manage to come up front with force. The nose carries right over to the taste buds. As you are getting to the finish the kentucky hug is great, nice and warm across the chest, but not a hard burn that lasts in the throat and back of mouth. Deep cherry and baking spice lingers well, with a full body feeling left in the mouth

Nose- Rye, cinnamon, nutmeg 120.2 proof, batch C921 Nose-oak, vanilla, spice and red cherries. Palate- slight vanilla and oak, very slight wood smoke flavor to start that quickly gives way to a heavy dose of cinnamon and spice. Thicker/ oily mouthfeel. Finish- long lasting barrel finish. Oak/ wood notes doninate here. A rye breadiness flavor lingers the longest. If you wait long enough there is a hint of cherries. Overall- the 12 year bourbon is a great sipper. Will need to sip this at its high ABV. A very good barrel proof edition that opens up something different with each sip.
Batch B523. Hot. At 11yr 5mo, oak tannins are thick but balanced by the heavy proof of 124.2. Corn pops cereal, macintosh apples, lemon curd, butterscotch & toffee brittle, amaretto, cinnamon stick, brown sugar, meringue cookies, candied orange peel, fresh anise, cocoa, grassy rye, nutty, thai basil, chicory coffee. Strong, varied flavors coming off the upper palate a week after opening. Similar to some Russell's single barrel. These have had interesting but consistent quality releases over the years.
Had a boozy nose with hints of cinnamon, caramel and oak. On the toungue, warm and oily then becomes almost chewy. Cinnamon and some heat, caramelnl sweetness in the middle and an almost fruity and light finish. Very rich, complex… i am still new and learning about bourbons but it has a sweetness that is so appealing, definitely doesnt feel 119 proof. It drinks easier but definitely has some gas. This is one of my new favorites, getting into higher proof
Cinnamon, chocolate and spice, so nice! Hard to believe the high abv on this smooth offering from EC. The B524 barrel proof packs heat but in a conformting way with a long finish. Sweet with hints of leather and rye, this scrumptious dram is powerful yet smooth. An exceptional dram. I did pickup an EJ private barrel release from my local spot, but still prefer the original barrell proof.
Smells of coffee, caramel and rye. Very smooth for the proof and not hot. Strong cinnamon notes with toffee, caramel, slight vanilla and coffee taste. Very good bourbon that gas become a favorite (Costco is the lowest price).
