Elijah Craig Barrel Proof Private Barrel (Binny's)

Binny’s 8 year 65.1% private SiB. The wife got it from the Rockford location. Review Notes: I opened it a few days before tasting it for fresh air. I also added an ice cube after the first sip. Nose: sweet caramel & butterscotch (Lighter nose than I expected) Palate: The taste follows the nose and adds a sweet oak note followed by a nice hug of heat. It’s viscous but doesn’t burn me out given the proof. Medium to long finish (Drinks well below 130 to around 110proof after adding an ice cube) Overall: ~9.6 It checks all of my boxes for a top notch whiskey (layers of flavor & fantastic value at MSRP). Only knock is against a lighter than expected nose. Probably the best bottle of whiskey that I currently own.
