Not great but not bad. I know that’s vague but I can’t think of much else to say about it. Not a big-flavored bourbon but not offensive. It’s pretty smooth. Maybe the tiniest amount of vanilla. A bit of corn sweetness up front turns into a touch of bitterness or maybe eucalyptus on the finish - that’s unexpected. Glad I tried it but probably won’t buy it again. Life’s too short and the whiskey world’s too big.
I’m sorry to say that I’m not thrilled with this bourbon. Not very smooth for sipping. It’s okay in a Manhattan, with an overdose of Sweet Vermouth and an extra dropper of bitters and a really, really cold glass.
Single barrel. Barrel #B/2/36 56.04 abv. Licorice, cinnamon, and oak in the aroma. Vanilla with light cinnamon and a touch of heat. Not too bad.
Finished in red wine French barrels so has a lot of flavor on the front end. Nice crisp finish.
