Starts off with alcohol on the nose which I would expect at 90 proof but after it sits for a while I get almonds and cherries. It's got a little bit of bite but again, to be expected at 90 proof. Then it opens up quite a bit. Sticks with the almond and cherries, it actually reminded me a little of Rittenhouse with the cherry and spice but definitely more almond, almost like a good Irish. The sherry finish really comes through at the end to round it out. Definitely unique and punching above its weight price wise.

Batch #40 Young grain and hint of buttered popcorn on the nose. The palate leads off with that hint of butter then transitions to the sweet juicy fruit barrel finished notes before finishing with some rye spiciness. In a way this could be the cheaper, entry level cousin of some of the Barrell blended finished whiskeys. Got it in sale for for $20, given the price it's a nice light, sweet sipper.
This one isnt too bad. Tastes of black coffee and apple pie, something my grandpa might like. You can find a slight wine influence, though the flavor profile leans much more towards a darker flavor profile. A nice lingering finish, some tabacco and oak. Theres quite a bit on the nose. Some citrus and breadiness to it. Its a solid pour, and for the price I'd buy it again.
Bourbon Advent calendar 2020 Liked it much better than the other Filibuster that was in the calendar. The sherry finish is nice. Doesn’t look like it is available in Ohio or Kentucky. I guess we will safe until the next time we are driving through Virginia.
Complex aroma with notes of berries and rye. Taste has rye, peppercorn, and perhaps sherry. And interesting, but young whiskey. Isn't nearly as rough as some younger whiskeys, but it could use a few more years in the barrel.
Lighter than I remember, probably since I’ve tried a lot of barrel proof stuff recently. Fruity palate and light finish. Easy drinker, if nothing else
